Sanctuary of Aphrodite at Palaipafos

This area was recognised by ancient Greeks as one of the main centres of pilgrimage in their world, here stood the famous (and often infamous) sanctuary of Aphrodite which dates from the 12th century B.C. The museum on site is part of a classic Lusignan Manor and visitors will find some fascinating exhibits reflecting the life and cult of Aphrodite that have been excavated from the original site.
